The biggest problem is range and cost especially in Canada digger. They're fine in a warm metro area (I wouldn't take the chance personally after seeing a few of them explode) for short commutes but government insurance companies like ICBC have refused to pay for damages when the cost of the battery exceeds the pirchase price of the car. BTW they had a carburator that got 200 miles to the gallon back in 1940's but somehow that never made it to the market place........I'm thinking the Big 3 (who wouldn't have sold you a new vehicle on a regular basis) or perhaps the oil companies may have had some input...........
