i recommend looking at "concluded cases" on the icsid site. i took a look at the first 10 cases that come up (the most recent). various countries involved, various types of cases.
of the 10 cases:
5 were settled by the parties (who knows what they got)
2 were discontinued by the parties (who knows? maybe settlement?)
of the 3 that went all the way to decision..... all 3 were found to be without legal merit or the tribunal found the respondent not liable...the claimants also got stuck with both parties costs....
i believe that venezuela will probably not fair as well as most countries because thier actions seem pretty blatantly "bad faith" but winning in international arbitration is certainly not a given. c'mon settlement!
