Message: time to step up

The court Zoom meetings work like a webinar. The court is the host and controls the session. The Judge decides who is on next based on the agenda distributed and invites that person to speak. Other attendees are not allowed to speak unless called upon to do so, or the judge asks whether any one in attendance has something to say or ask with regard to the points in discussion. If you think you need to make a point or raise a question, you need to "raise your hand" (see below) and wait for the judge to invite you to speak. Your microphone needs to be on mute all the time until when you are specifically invited to speak. Unauthorize participations / interruptions that disrupt the hearing usually result on the judge asking you to wait until s/he "opens the floor" for the audience to participate.

One always addresses the judge as "Your Honor"

  1. In the webinar controls, click Raise Hand  .
The host will be notified that you've raised your hand.
If the host allows you to talk, you may be prompted to unmute yourself. While unmuted, your profile picture and name is displayed to the host and panelists. Only your name is displayed to other attendees.
  2. Click Raise Hand in the webinar controls to lower it, if needed. This will not mute yourself if you are unmuted.
