DIAGNOS' Targets on the Ariane Property in the Abitibi Confirmed by Ground Geophysics Thursday May 15, 9:26 am ET
BROSSARD, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - May 15, 2008) - DIAGNOS inc. ("DIAGNOS" or the "Corporation") (TSX VENTURE:ADK - News), a leader in the use of artificial intelligence ("AI") and advanced knowledge extraction techniques, announced that the ground geophysics (a Resistivity / Induced Polarization and a ground InfiniTEM® TDEM survey) carried out by an independent contractor (Abitibi Geophysics) confirmed an interesting potential of CARDS' targets on Ariane property. This property is under an option agreement with Maxtech Ventures Inc., a Canadian mineral exploration company, to acquire 100% interest in this prospective gold property in the Abitibi region in Quebec. The project is in the Caopatina-Desmaraisville volcano-sedimentary belt known to host several high-grade SVM and gold deposits.
The use of both complementary techniques of ground geophysics allows mapping the full range from disseminated to massive sulphide mineralization. A total of nineteen chargeability anomalies were identified on the A1 Grid (3 of priority 1) and twenty three on the A2 Grid (8 of priority 1):
- On the A1 Grid, the IP anomalies extend NW-SE and are probably caused by shallow sources. The most interesting targets could be related to quartz veins style mineralization, as reported by Abitibi Geophysics. The Rosenbaum showing (4.16% Zn + 5.8g/t Au over 3.4m at 227.6m and 2.4g/t Au over 2.1m at 264m) is located over one of these geophysical anomalies.
- On the A2 Grid, the most promising targets do not have a resistive association. One ground InfiniTEM® anomaly (A2-09), over three lines, corresponds to a good quality sub-vertical conductor. This conductor is proximal to a strongly polarizable source (A2-09). Therefore its source could be caused by semi-massive sulphides. A grab sample taken over this anomaly (100m east to the peak of chargeability) contained 2.25% Cu.
Follow-up prospecting, mapping, and ground geophysics will be carried out this summer to west of the InfiniTEM® anomaly in order to better define the exact nature of this conductor. This work will help guide a future drilling campaign.
