I have several solar systems that use the 8A8D 12VDC battery.  I use 4 batteries in a string and use 2 strings to get about 4ooAH at 48VDC.  That runs my solar system.  It looks like it may be intended as a replacement battery for that application.  I think Electrovaya has said in the past that they were working on a home solar battery.  This may be it !  I would have to use 4 strings...
