I would say the lesson they should have learned is to drill horizontally and frac.

How about this paragraph:
“In addition, to the spudding of Besa-D-1, our partner NIS continues to study the hydrocarbon potential of the entire Makó Trough including the Deep Makó play.”
Sounds like maybe NIS wants to be that partner we are looking for the Deep Makó play.
