The reserve consists of two distinct settlements, Uashat and Maliotenam, located near the city of Sept-Îles. In the Canada 2011 Census, Uashat had a population of 1,485[1] and Maliotenam had a population of 1,316.[2] Approximately 700 additional members of the Uashat-Maliotenam band live outside of the communities, predominantly in Sept-Îles.[3]
