You can earn activity points by filling your profile with information about yourself (what city you live in, your favorite team, blogs etc.)
If the person who posted has the 'rank' of mail room or treasurer you can directly delete the message in the discussion page. You need to be logged in, click on the offending post and at the top left of the message is a statement 'you can remove this message'. Click on the word remove and it's gone.
you can't do this to people that have the rank of president.
