Message: Michael Kachanovsky:WEEKLY METALS WRAP-UP

Last year the Yukon was one of the premier exploration districts in the world, as a gold rush commenced after a break through discovery by Atac Resources of high grade Carlin-style gold mineralisation. Many other juniors were quick to acquire properties in the district and participate in the exploration boom. Investor interest has since calmed down somewhat but the juniors remain active and some good exploration results continue to be reported.

Golden Predator was able to raise a nice chunk of cash last year during the peak of the Yukon gold rush and the company is one of the largest property holders in the territory. Drilling has been underway at its Brewery Creek project. This week a batch of drill results was announced, highlighted by an interval of 23 meters bearing 5.67 grams per ton gold. This follows up on some success earlier this year that also yielded wide intervals of disseminated gold.

In addition the company has completed road construction and established improved infrastructure at its mining camp that will allow the exploration work to continue through the winter months. The extremes of climate and limited road access in the Yukon have restrained many of the companies that are active in the region from continuing exploration during the winter months. This seasonality has contributed to market volatility for those juniors when the work and news flow tapers off. Golden Predator plans to move forward with winter work programs this year as a result of the infrastructure upgrades they have completed, and the luxury of a well-funded treasury....
