03:03 PM EDT, 09/27/2017 (MT Newswires) -- Gowest Gold (GWA.V) said before market hours Monday that it intercepted the first ore zone at the Bradshaw gold deposit, part of its North Timmins gold project in Ontario, but the company's shares were trading at $0.19 on last look for a 2.6% loss from previous close.

The first ore zone at Bradshaw was intercepted in the northern halo of the deposit, at the 45-meter level as expected. The company has commenced chip sampling to supplement in-fill drilling.

Gowest also noted that the total development at Bradshaw had reached 580 meters as of Sept. 15, and that the X-ray ore sorting unit from Steinert US arrived on Sept. 13 and is currently being assembled, expected to be ready in time for the first crushed run of mine ore. Gowest expects to send the first ore shipment to the mill by the fourth quarter.

The water treatment plan at Bradshaw is also being commissioned, while the site's maintenance shop is expected to be operational by mid-October.
