Future EV market is going to need so many batteries that any stable technology that can scale at low price will be used.

Tesla clearly stated that the bottleneck for mass production of affordable EVs in the next 10 years was the battery production output.  There is currently not enough production to sustain the growth.

So you will continue to see mass production of Li-Ion with graphite (currently with 5-6% Si content) , silicon enhanced graphite (probably 25-30%Si) and maybe even 100% silicon anodes for many years to come.

As Bernard stated, the demand is going to be huge because the price will be low and easily scalable.

Solid state batteries change nothing because they still have to scale up and it's cost is estimated to be a lot higher than conventional Li-Ion batteries. That would be perfect for niche markets like space equipements, high-end luxury cars/VTOL, IF they manage to scale up.
