Below 150nm there is no cracking issue due to expansion of the silicon.  It increases the quantity of silicon they can use in the anode without the need of adding graphite, making the battery even more performant.

  • SEM-XRD analysis indicates that the < 100 nm Si base spherical nanopowders & nanowires material could be used as anode material for Li-ion batteries, combined with graphite or not.
