Message: A chance to finish your thoughts Bernard...

Hi Bernard,

Lots to unpack in the interview with Rich TV... but at one point you begin to explain about "creating value" in HPQ...  but unfortunately Rich cuts you off and he pivots to ask you about the plant.  It seemed to me as if you had more to say about this but the moment had passed.

@ 10:16 you said:  "Often at HPQ what we are doing is generating value.  Well, once the QRR become technologically valuable there is probably going to be big players, either end users or competitors... they are going to look at the technology and say 'oh, this is very very interesting, and they [HPQ] have already done the hard research... they have the patent and the technology... maybe this is something we want to look at'.  How do you value that? Well in the industry....." and then Rich cuts in.

Can you possibly finish your thoughts here in a reply?  Your last sentence:  "Well, in the industry..." What were you going to say?

Also, there is quite a bit of conversation going on about what this segment means overall and it would be great to understand your perspective.  Some are thinking "creating value" means simply selling the technology... some see it as these big players partnering.  It would be great if you could give us your thoughts on what sort of potential scenarios you might listen to... What would be a non-starter...   What might a big player "want to look at"?

Best regards,
Tim in Vancouver
