Spud-in of Well 1-HRT-170/06-AM
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, January 03, 2012 – HRT Participações em Petróleo S.A. (the “Company” or “HRT”) (BM&FBOVESPA: HRTP3, TSX-V: HRP) announces that its subsidiary HRT O&G Exploração e Produção de Petróleo Ltda (“HRT O&G”), on January 02 at 09:30 p.m., spudded the well 1-HRT-6-AM, in the prospect named Eucalipto (1-HRT-170/06-AM), located in the Solimões Basin, in the Municipality of Tefé-AM, in the Block SOL-T-170.
The objective of this well is to test a 20 km² area structure, located around 10 km southwest of the Araracanga Field and 20km southwest of the oil production well 1-BRSA-769-AM. It has as main targets the Juruá Formation reservoirs (Carboniferous age), expected to be reached from 2,950m depth, as well as the Uerê Formation (Devonian age). The well has been drilled by the rig Tuscany-115, and is forecast to reach a final depth at around 3,400m.
