VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - May 27, 2009) - Hana Mining Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:HMG)(FRANKFURT:4LH) (the "Company") is pleased to report new results for 2 new diamond drill holes at its sediment-hosted Ghanzi Copper-Silver Project in Botswana. "The prospective horizon is open along strike to the northeast and down dip. Our drilling at Zone 5 occurred along a 2,000 meter strike length on the north limb of a syncline and is well mineralized. The aeromagnetic signature that characterizes the target horizon extends at least an additional 40 kilometers to the northeast. The south limb of the syncline is untested. As well, the prospective horizon has been repeated by folding several times resulting in more than 600 kilometers of cumulative strike length. All of this adds to the considerable upside potential at the project" states Peter Wilson, President of Hana Mining. The two new holes, HA-96-D and HA-97-D, are 600 meters apart on Zone 5. Hole HA-97-D returned a wide intercept of 26.0 meters grading 1.63% Cu and 10.8 g/t Ag. Included in this interval was a higher grade section of 9.0 meters grading 2.68% Cu and 19.9 g/t Ag. The holes were designed to test down dip continuity of mineralization obtained from the RC drilling. Hole HA-96-D returned 11.0 meters grading 1.25% Cu and 7.3 g/t Ag including 4.0 meters grading 1.77% Cu and 6.3 g/t Ag. The mineralized section is 100 meters down dip from RC hole HA-29-R that returned 18.0 meters grading 2.29% Cu and 15.3 g/t Ag. Hole HA-97-D was collared 600 meters along strike to the northeast and returned 26.0 meters grading 1.63% Cu and 10.8 g/t Ag including a high grade interval of 9.0 meters grading 2.68% Cu and 19.9 g/t Ag. Several other narrow, high grade intercepts were obtained within the wide mineralized zone. The mineralized section in this hole is 50 meters down dip from RC hole HA-25-R that returned 30 meters grading 2.06% Cu and 16.9 g/t Ag, the widest intercept encountered to date. This intercept included a 9.0 meter section that graded 3.36% Cu and 25.3 g/t Ag. The higher grade sections in holes HA-97-D and HA-25-R suggest an enriched core in this area of Zone 5. Samples are bagged, labeled, sealed and packed in sealed containers and shipped to Scientific Services Laboratory in Cape Town, South Africa.
