First LNG from Jangkrik

Operator Eni delivering first cargo from deep-water field to domestic customer Pertamina

Italy’s Eni has shipped the first liquefied natural gas cargo produced for the domestic market from its Jangkrik gas field off East Kalimantan, Indonesia.

The 22,500-cubic metre cargo left from the Bontang LNG plant in East Kalimantan province and is en route to the island of Bali under a long-term sales agreement with national oil and gas company Pertamina that was signed in June 2015.

Eni started up production at the deep-water Jangkrik field on 15 May.

Petronet eyes Mundra LNG stake

Consortium in talks for 25% share of Indian import terminal nearing completion

Petronet LNG is in talks to buy a 25% stake in Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation’s (GSPC) Mundra liquefied natural gas import terminal in Gujarat, India.

Construction of the 5 million tonnes-per-annum Mundra LNG receiving and regasification project is almost complete

GSPC had earlier offered its entire 50% stake to compatriot Indian Oil Corporation but the company was only willing to take a 25% or 26% interest.

Industry sources said that IOC was keen that state-owned GSPC

Freeport LNG eyes small-scale barging

Concept would allow plant to supply LNG as fuel to natural gas-powered vessels

The developers of the Freeport liquefied natural gas facility on the Texas coast are considering adding a small-scale LNG barging concept to the plant, according to a company official.

The concept would allow the plant to supply LNG as a fuel to vessels powered by natural gas, Freeport LNG vice president and global head of LNG marketing Bryan Frey told Upstream on Friday.

"We believe in the emerging market there," Frey said. "We want to be a leading provider."

Monadelphous picks up more Ichthys work

Australian contractor awarded another contract on Inpex's LNG project in the Northern Territory

Engineering group Monadelphous has secured another contract on the Inpex-operated Ichthys liquefied natural gas project in northern Australia.

The contract was awarded by engineering, procurement and construction contractor JKC Australia LNG at the project’s onshore facilities near Darwin.

The award will see Monadelphous provide structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation works for the completion of the gas turbine generators and the associated steam piping of the combined cycle power plant at Ichthys.

Kogas starts taking Sabine Pass gas

Cheniere Energy starts sending gas to Korea from US export project under 20-year deal

Houston-based Cheniere Energy has started supplying gas to Korea Gas (Kogas) from its Sabine Pass liquefaction facility in Louisiana under a 20-year sales and purchase agreement.

Cheniere revealed over the weekend the SPA which was ,originally signed in January 2012, had officially started on 1 June, with the first cargo being shipped from the US project the following day.
