Ivanhoe Mines Announces Ivanplats to Begin Early-Works Construction for Shaft 2 at Platreef Mine

11:16 AM EDT, 04/12/2017 (MT Newswires) -- Ivanhoe Mines (IVN.TO) has approved the start of early works construction for shaft 2, which will be the main producing shaft at the company's Platreef PGM nickel-copper project.

The project is expected to start this quarter and will consist of two phases. It should take approximately 12-months and cost about US$5.5 million.

Ivanhoe's shares were last up 3.1% at $5.26 apiece.
