The sad part is that this is just the initial stages of the effects of plummeting commodity prices that all these countries are experiencing.

The situation is just going to get worse in the months to come and meanwhile the politicians squander the few opportunities available, such as developing the mining industry to provide some much needed revenue.

Politicians are idiots everywhere, as witnessed by the daily events in Ottawa and Washington. The only victims are the masses who suffer the consequences that these clowns inflict while taking care of the privileged few.
