07:21 AM EDT, 03/25/2019 (MT Newswires) -- Kirkland Lake Gold (KL.TO) said Monday that Jeff Parr has been appointed as interim chairman of the board, temporarily succeeding Eric Sprott, who will retire after the annual general meeting of shareholders on May 7 after serving as the board chairman since 2016.

Parr has over 30 years of executive management experience in the mining and service provider industries.

After the meeting, the corporate governance and nominating committee will review the composition of the board to determine whether the size of the board should be increased and, where appropriate, nominate suitable candidates.
