My speculation is that Ford will merge with VW in the future. At the moment Ford is going to use the VW EV MEB platform for its own lineup, which will definitely reduce the cost of the car for both companies.

I was hoping, that VW will end the EV dominancy of Tesla in the US, but the production difficulties with ID3/4 put that dream to sleep :-).
