I have a personal interest in this story.  I am currently on my third "Generator" for my 2 chamber cardiac pacemaker and am 100% paced.  My current model has about 1 1/2 years of life left, so I will be looking at another surgical "swap" of generators sometime in 2023.  

Wow!  Ultrasonic recharging would save tons of $$, be so much safer and the convenience would be out of this world!  Talk about an investment opportunity!  IF the South Korean KIST Team is able to develop this technology to the point of commercialization then the potential sales of this technology would be a huge investment opportunity.  

RF Microwave is also being looked at elsewhere as a possible mechanism to recharge implantable electric powered medical devices:

I don't know if NASA is still looking at a Thermoelectric device that generates electricity while implanted inside the human body, but they certainly were looking at such a technolgoy in the past, to wit:
