Short sellers "borrow" someone's shares and try to hammer down the price.

Who would knowingly lend shares to someone whose main purpose is to make those same shares less valuable?

That is like lending your mugger your black jack....saying "here use this"

IMHO all short selling should be stopped completely.

I hope someone is checking the short sales to make sure they really aren't "naked" shorts in disguise.

Make the stock markets transparent else the same crap will happen just with a different camouflage
