I understand how the Ring of Fire is not a priority for Chief Atlookan and her community.  That's fine.  Then the government of Ontario should help them address their addiction crisis, and see to it that adequate housing is provided for her, and her community...Including hydro, water, broadband, and access roads.  But I fail to see how all of this allows her the right to stop a developement that is approx. 161 km away from her community. 

If she is worried about Eabametoong's cut of the revenue sharing from the Ring of Fire, don't.  Your community's portion will be fair according to the Regional Framework Agreement. And...Yes. You and your community have the right to aid, but not at the expense of keeping other Matawa communities from addressing their own needs and ambitions.
