Well, one ongoing and as yet undiscovered or undisclosed to any degree item is why no major Canadian mining company ever did what BHP and Wyloo are now doing. Certainly the optimum opportunity seemed to be when Cliffs wanted/needed for their own financial reasons to divest themselves of their ROF holdings and pretty much put the "On Sale" sign up.  Both levels of government,most FNs and even major railroad companies were focused on the ROF succeeding and would imagine a financing deal wi would have been very viable especially with a major Canadian mining company at the helm.

Maybe one day we'll know.
