Message: Neskantaga First Nation taking province to court over lack of consultation on Ring of Fire mine road

I've been here long enough to know the government gave the group of FN's along the E/W route money....I beleive about $760,000....to study the impact of roads to their land.

Does anyone remember what the results of those studies were?

I believe their concern was....and correct me if I'm wrong.....how roads would affect their welfare cheques.  And of course, they could do more studies if they were given more money.

If they don't want the E/W road, that is fine....but, why should they get to VETO the N/S route, when others impacted more by that route are in agreement and feel the benefits to their people outweigh the risks.
