| VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Jan. 19, 2009) - Nortec Ventures Corp. (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:NVT) is pleased to announce the engagement of Cal Everett as a Technical Consultant and the appointment of Balraj Mann, CA, as the Chief Financial Officer of the Company effective January 15, 2009. Mr. Everett will render his services through his consulting company and his services will consist of researching, identifying and evaluating Merger and Acquisition candidates, identifying potential advanced stage mineral properties for acquisitions, and identifying potential institutions and funds interested in taking part in future financings. Mr. Everett had a very successful career as a Geologist, and as an Investment Advisor with Nesbitt Burns and PI Financial. At PI Financial, he was responsible for Institutional Sales, specializing in the mining sector, from October 2001 to December 2008. Cal obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Brunswick. From 1977 through to 1989, he worked in mineral exploration as a Geologist for Amoco and Esso Minerals. Mr. Mann is a Chartered Accountant with over 28 years of extensive experience in areas of Corporate Finance, acquisitions and financial reporting, and served as a director and advisor for both public and private companies. Mr. Mann was a Senior Manager with Price Waterhouse and attained his designation with the same firm in 1982. From 1989 to 2001 he was president of a private real estate development corporation completing industrial, commercial, single and multi-family high-rise residential projects in excess of $200 million. During this time, Mr. Mann was also an active participant in the corporate management of the Boundary Bay Airport in Delta, BC. He was a Member of the advisory board of Accelerate Power Systems Inc, formerly Key Capital Group Inc, from 2000 to 2001. Mr. Mann was also president of a private company specializing in providing financing and strategic direction to real estate development. He is currently the Chief Financial Officer and a director of Eagle Star Petroleum Corporation, a TSX-V listed company. Mr. Mann is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Commerce and Economics from Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, BC in 1979. Nortec thanks the current Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Adam Kniec, CA, for his services for the financial years 2007 and 2008. Mr. Kniec will continue to render his services during the next two months assisting Price Waterhouse Coopers in completing the audited 2008 year-end financial statements. Nortec's Board of Directors and Management are very pleased with these appointments. Both Mr. Everett and Mr. Mann will add valuable technical and corporate expertise to the Company as it develops mineral resources and evaluates potential favourable business opportunities.
