08:11 AM EDT, 05/19/2020 (MT Newswires) -- Osisko Mining Inc. (OSK.TO) should go higher after climbing 3.5% on Friday as it announced overnight that day that it is resuming operations at its 100% Windfall gold project in the Abitibi greenstone belt in Quebec, after obtaining permission from the Government of Quebec to resume exploration activities.

The company was in close collaboration with the Cree First Nation of Waswanipi and the Cree Nation Government as it identified a plan to resume operations at the project. An initial group of employees and contractors have returned to the site and drilling operations with six rigs was scheduled to recommence over the weekend.

Osisko expects operations to return to full capacity by late June, with more drills and workers returning over the next few weeks.
