It came from Benadiba's new business card according to the OP and Mrs. Shepherd described it as the schematic symbol for an optical thyristor. Given those two bits of info I feel pretty confident.

I'm going to look at the thyristor patents right now to see if there are any schematic drawings. Usually there are only structural kinds of drawings in Taylor's patents, but I'll post anything that resembles it.
