MADISON, WI--(Marketwired - Jan 22, 2015) - Alfalight, Inc., a leading developer of high-performance infrared and visible laser systems for defense and security applications, announced it has received a contract to deliver semiconductor laser modules for an aerospace system built by Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) Space and Airborne Systems (SAS). The eighteen-month contract has a value of $1.9 million, with an option to increase the total to $3.1 million later in 2015.

The company also announced that it received the Supplier Excellence Award from Raytheon for "exceptional" quality and delivery of its high-performance, ruggedized laser diode subsystems. Alfalight first qualified to provide the lasers to Raytheon for this application in 2007.
