Message: About ANAD

Is considering foundry relationships with commercial 6” foundry suppliers with direct opto-electronic experience. To date the Company has signed a VCSEL Manufacturing Process Transfer agreement withAnadigics, Inc. (ANAD) and with two epitaxial wafer vendors to accelerate the “Lab-to-Fab” transition of thePOET technology to a 6" wafer scale. Amongst other objectives, this engagement is meant to support the development and verification of the foundation devices and design enablement kits. Additionally, it will provide the baseline process flow in a manufacturing environment and enable the demonstration of product prototypes.

I keep reading this over and it sounds more like Anadigics was hired to be more about proof of concept and demonstration of prototypes than about being a manufacturer, Would it not be possible for poet to be using Anadigics to prove prototypes for products being designed specifically for customers. Does a demonstration of product prototype need a physical prototype or can it be done to some extent on a model demonstration. Just some thoughts, I don't get the feeling that Anadigics was hired to be our major manufacturer, but more of a manufacturer demo.

Also there was some mention of our new Lab in SJ but no mention of cost or equipment purchases???
