The benefit provided by POET and the OI is on the chip (one of 400 cut from the wafer). There is still packaging, fiber and wiring, associated other electronics, etc. POET has no experience there and it is not where high margins are. Stay fab-lite (and away from manufacturing) and provide biggest bang for the buck. Then POET has time to move on to OI in other verticals.
