Moore's Law is slowing and debatably thought to have about ten more, no pun intended, years.  As scaling down reaches atomic limits new methods of advancing computer science will come into play.  Cast your mind back to the Empire Club presentations where Jeffrey Taylor looked his audiance in the eye and said that all roads lead to POET'.

Setting aside Blevin, the TRAB and Apple Boffins visiting the lab at Storrs, we must not forget that there was the announcement of delivering TDK (technical design kits) to its customer, presumably for Apple to have a deep delve into the POET proposal.

Given the scale of the project required to replace Moore's Law, despite  the advantages of Optoelectrical integration POET offered in performance, there was no road forward without a major partner and major funding to carry it forward.  A project of the scale required would surely take the ten or so years that was left in the Moore's law.

Whether Apple had the vision to take what they saw in the TDK forward or even consigned the idea to file thirteen, our experience with the strategic switch to the OI was obtainable to our development team whereas integrated optoelectical was clearly not.

Maybe, just maybe, one day when SV has made PTI the leading company he envisages then JT visionary statement may become a reality.  I would like that to be so as this was a primary reason for me to invest in the bleeding edge technology PTI and JT envisaged.
