You never really know, but I would say the validity of this theory depends on whether or not you trust POET management. If you do, they have clearly stated that news will flow when it is ready, but not timed (e.g. for conferences, etc.). I'm not so sure investors would be pleased if Suresh was to lower his strike price for his options, then shortly afterwards have big news. I don't think the $0.73 warrant holders would think that would be fair. But then again, who knows any specific details about what POET is really doing, and stranger things have certainly happened in the markets before.
