Here's some possibilities (some more humorous) about Cannacord trading :

1) Was the broker associated with many of the insider trades 

2) They are taking a stake in the company before they initiate coverage

3) They are a lead underwriter taking Poet to Nasdaq (I agree, I very small probability unless Poet is in acquisition mode)

4) Sheldon Inwentash is back :-)
