Now that POET has enabled high volume production out of China what is the purpose of setting up operations in Allentown? I am beginning to  think that the work  they will  be doing in Allentown which is  associated with being located close to  both suppliers and customers is  focused on next generation products which requires close associations. 

Co-packaged Optics. Starting with the co-packaged optics external laser source. Suresh advise us that they were working on a light source (multiple lasers = light bar) for insertion into silicon photonics. And advancing towards full OI implementation for ASIC optical engine applications. 

It is very conceivable that the next NRE (which the company has signaled is coming) will be associated with co-packaged optics assembly.
