Intel’s solution is based on SOI wafer (silicon-on-insulator) like 95% of all Silicon Photonics solutions)

Dr. Suresh Venkatesan was instrumental in bringing this technology platform to market in 2015 while working at GF. Today SOI platform is a global multi billion US $ business.
