Agreed this is weird. Astera Labs with market cap of $10B:
At DesignCon, we showcased our new Aries PCIe®/CXL® Smart Cable Modules (SCMs) that enable multi-rack GPU clustering for AI with an industry-leading 7-meter reach over flexible copper cables.
Poet's announcement of an 800GB 2-10 kilometer module gets minimal notice. Then today they announce a capable partner to make them, still no biggy. I gotta think this stuff is just too technical for the market to know the difference. Maybe I don't know the difference either.
Astera isn't even profitable, and has chewed through hundred's of $millions.
I think we are just gonna have to wait for some big orders showing that the POET tech is ready for prime time.
