Possible Emerging Issue Poet’s Ecosystem

We were discussing ‘dams’ on the site earlier … my mind turned to this topic.

I have been watching news releases on the Three Gorges Dam and thinking about our Chinese relationship...

“There is serious concern that China's Three Gorges Dam may fail due to heavy flooding. And that if it fails, it would kill millions of people, perhaps 100 million according to some claims,”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PINRcVmjrM

The dam is bending  ...” China's Three Gorges Dam Buckles as Country Battles Floods

Parts of central China are experiencing rain to rival the massive flooding in 1998, leaving around one-third of China's farming output at risk. (See https://realmoney.thestreet.com/politics/china-s-three-gorges-dam-buckles-as-country-battles-floods-15379139)

So What...

If it was to fail-- heavy flooding-- millions dead-- current economy in the tank-- global impact we are all economically interconnected —pandemic-- fertile ground for further growth..etc..

The question(s) become:

Will the West come to the rescue given the current political climate?

Will the West exploit the opportunity and let China struggle. … Would result in serious threats to the Communist Party... I believe regime change… There are rumblings today as we speak. “The Risks of China’s Three Gorges Dam’s Flooding…”  “It would be a black swan of epic proportions, China’s Chernobyl moment. A tsunami-like wave from a breach in the Three Gorges Dam could wipe out millions of acres of farmland right before the autumn harvest, possibly leading to famine-like conditions. As it is also the world’s largest hydroelectric power station, a failure would lead to huge power outages. Low-lying cities of millions along the Yangtze’s banks cities could become uninhabitable and the death toll could be staggering.” … The political impact could be enough to destabilize the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), in the same way that Chernobyl was the nail in the coffin of the Soviet Communist Party. Public anger, already stoked by the draconian state response to the coronavirus pandemic that started in Wuhan, could boil over, even if many understand that the rains are an act of nature”.

What are the implications for Poet?  What steps is the Company taking top mitigate such a possiblity?
