Message: Lithium Niobate laser

Pretty cool research. The laser used in this experiment is actually an InP DFB laser. This device was created by bonding a TFLN and SiN wafer together and butt coupling an InP laser. The lithium niobate is used here for its electro-optic properties. This decice specifically is targeting Lidar applications, but has a ways to go. The experiment targeted up to 3 meters with 15 centimeter resolution. Commercial grade devices will require kilometer targeting and milimeter resolution.
