Shining Tree Area Heats Up

I think you should all be aware of the exciting new activity close to Platinex’s Shining Tree gold property enhancing its potential endowment. The property is located on an extension of the Larder Lake Break which is a long fault bounded zone hosting volcanic and sedimentary rocks of Early Precambrian age. Many extremely large gold deposits on the Break have been developed and mined from Val d’Or to Kirkland Lake and to Matachewan, a distance of 250km, which are all to the east of Platinex’s Shining Tree property.

Northgate Minerals Corporation has recently made a production decision on the Young Davidson Mine near Matachewan approximately 55 km east of Platinex’s Shining Tree gold property. Just 10 km east of the Shining Tree property a spectacular gold intersection on the Minto deposit obtained by Creso Resources has been posted on the StockHouse website . According to the posting the hole intersected mineralization from 0 to 115 metres and 130m to 230m with best zones of 18.2 g/t Au over 65.7m in the first interval and 20.7 g/t Au over 9.95m in the second interval. Not to be outdone, some 45km to the west of Platinex’s Shining Tree property Trelawney Mining and Exploration Inc. on March 3, 2010 announced an intersection of 107.11 metres grading 8.20g Au/tonne. Also active with drilling programs in the area are Goldeye Resources and Benton Resources.

Platinex’s Shining Tree gold property comprises 139 claim units and occupies an 8km strike extent along the Larder Lake Break. Eight old gold prospects are known on the property. The Herrick vein has been drill defined by 36 holes and contains continuous gold mineralization in a quartz breccia over a 400m strike length. A large number of indications of gold in till remain untested by drilling. A large drilling program is intended for this year.
