ROUTE1 ANNOUNCES THE NEW STANDARD IN SECURE MOBILITY

Route1 Inc. has raised the industry standard with the commercial release of MobiKEY 5.0, the latest version of its flagship technology.

MobiKEY 5.0 is a mobile access solution that uses comprehensive multifactor authentication and identity management to securely connect an organization's digital assets with its employees, mobile workers and contractors.

"Today's MobiKEY 5.0 release delivers outstanding new functionality to our customers," said Yamian Quintero, chief technology officer of Route1. "As we continue to evolve MobiKEY, one of our goals is to grow the ways mobile workers can use MobiKEY. The functionality now available in MobiKEY 5.0 opens up a number of new-use cases for our clients, including off-line capabilities with secure storage and removing the dependency on the remote asset's operating system by using Bootable MobiKEY."

MobiKEY 5.0 delivers significant new functionality, specifically:

• Policy options:
  • Bootable MobiKEY: A security feature built into the MobiKEY Fusion3 and MobiKEY Classic 3 (MC3) devices that provides the user with the option to boot from the MobiKEY device, thus bypassing the remote asset's existing operating system;
  • Secure storage: Provides an encrypted partition available for secure file storage on the MobiKEY Fusion3 and MC3 devices, encrypted to the user's PIV, CAC or embedded smart card. The encrypted partition only becomes accessible after successful authentication;
• Feature:
  • Linux support for remote assets using the MobiKEY Fusion3 and MC3 devices: Linux operating systems now supported for remote assets include Mint, Fedora, Ubuntu and CentOS;
  • Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan support for remote assets: Mac OS X operating systems now supported by MobiKEY for remote assets include 10.7 Lion, 10.8 Mountain Lion, 10.9 Mavericks, 10.10 Yosemite and 10.11 El Capitan;
  • Windows 10 support for remote assets: Windows operating systems now supported by MobiKEY for remote assets include Windows XP -- 32 bit, Windows Vista -- 32 and 64 bit, and Windows 7, 8.0, 8.1 and 10 -- 32 and 64 bit;
  • Windows 10 support for host assets: Windows operating systems now supported by MobiKEY for host assets include Windows Vista -- 32 and 64 bit, Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 -- 32 and 64 bit, Windows Server 2008 R2 -- 64 bit, and Windows Server 2012 R2 -- 64 bit;
  • Added remote audio support for users connecting from remote assets using Mac OS X 10.10 or higher Mac OS X operating systems to host assets with the MobiNET Agent software version 5.0 installed: Remote audio support was first promoted for MobiKEY 4.4 users connecting from a Windows remote asset;
  • Internet protocol version 6 (IPv6) support: IPv6 is the most recent version of the Internet protocol, the communications protocol that provides an identification and location system for computers on networks and routes traffic across the Internet.

Users of MobiKEY will be notified directly through their MobiKEY device that a software update is available. Upon user acceptance, the secure software application update will be performed.

Future MobiKEY releases

Route1 plans to continue adding features to MobiKEY, such as:

• MobiKEY 5.1 (target release date of December, 2015) -- support for multiple smart cards within a MobiKEY secure data session;
• MobiKEY 5.2 (target release date of January, 2016) -- use of the DTLS (datagram transport layer security) communications protocol;
• MobiKEY 5.3 (target release date of March, 2016) -- microphone support for remote assets running Windows.
