Route1 lists MobiKEY tech on GSA Advantage

2016-03-16 11:20 ET - News Release

Mr. Tony Busseri reports

ROUTE1 ANNOUNCES AVAILABILITY OF MOBIKEY ON GSA ADVANTAGE

Route1 Inc.'s MobiKEY technology is now available on GSA IT Schedule 70 through Patriot Technologies Inc. Purchases of the MobiKEY solution and related products can now be made using GSA Schedule No. GS-35F-4363D on the GSA Advantage website.

MobiKEY is a complete desktop, secure remote access technology that integrates multifactor authentication and identity management in a mobile computing environment. Remote and mobile workers are able to securely and cost-effectively access their workspace from any device without exposing the organization to the risk of data loss or malware propagation. MobiKEY has a number of technology differentiators:

  • CAC, PIV and ALT token-based multifactor authentication in compliance with HSPD-12 mandate;
  • Your enterprise's data stays within your network perimeter;
  • No DAR (data at rest) and no risk of data leakage;
  • The technology is not a browser-based technology; it is not vulnerable to man-in-the-browser attack vectors;
  • The technology is not a VPN (virtual private network); no open inbound ports; thereby it mitigates the risk of penetration attacks;
  • There are no external nodes on your network, mitigating the risk of malware introduction into your network;
  • MobiKEY is built with security as its first priority.

Route1's primary target market is the government sector, which is often more security conscious than private enterprises. Specifically, the company is focused on the U.S. government, which has adopted a progressive strategy toward cybersecurity policy and technology deployment, and the availability of MobiKEY on GSA streamlines the deployment process for U.S. government customers. With more than 20 government departments or agencies currently among Route1's customers, including the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of the Interior, the company is well positioned for future growth within the vertical.

"The MobiKEY solution's listing on GSA accelerates and simplifies the procurement process for our government customers, allowing for much faster deployment of the technology after the successful completion of pilot programs. Each additional customer win with one federal agency raises the likelihood that additional departments or agencies will adopt Route1's technology given our standing as a known and reliable vendor of industry-leading secure access technologies for the mobile workspace. The availability of MobiKEY on GSA ensures that future deployments within the U.S. government have a quick and efficient procurement path, further enhancing our position in the space," said Brian Brunetti, Route1's president.

MobiKEY for iOS

Route1 has released its latest version of MobiKEY for iOS -- version 5.0. As found in the Apple App Store, there are three MobiKEY apps -- Route1 MobiKEY, MobiKEY A2T and MobiKEY TAC. The MobiKEY A2T app requires a MobiKEY Fusion A2T device, and the MobiKEY TAC requires the Tactivo device by Precise Biometrics.

Features of MobiKEY 5.0 for iOS include iOS 9 and 64-bit support, bug fixes and an improved user experience, more specifically:

  • Added split keyboard functionality;
  • Changes to the toolbar including making it smaller, movable and providing the ability to hide the toolbar;
  • Implementation of an optional virtual mouse, screen-shifting functionality for easier use with the on-screen keyboard and custom keys.

MobiKEY 5.0 for iOS supports iOS version 8 or 9.

"MobiKEY 5.0 for iOS delivers a feature-rich mobile experience of the technology while leveraging the same security principles applied to our desktop approach. We continue to see increased adoption of the MobiKEY technology for mobile platforms, and mobile operating systems will continue to be an integral component of our current and future technology roadmaps," said Yamian Quintero, Route1's chief technology officer.
