Sangoma Technologies Corporation: NetBorder Express 2.0 Gateway Adds Support for Analog Cards, Smarter Web Interface That Makes Management a Snap

Sangoma Debuts First Inside-the-Server VoIP Gateway With support for Both Analog and Digital Interfaces

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 3, 2009) - Sangoma(R) Technologies Corporation (TSX VENTURE:STC) today announced that the first upgrade to its NetBorder VoIP Gateway Cards is now in Beta. NetBorder Express Version 2.0 adds support for analog cards and a dynamic Web interface that takes care of installation, configuration, and SIP to TDM gateway management.

With the first inside-the-server gateway on the market that supports both analog and digital cards, Sangoma tailored this upgrade for solutions providers using NetBorder Express who are developing applications for businesses with fewer than 16 seats, where T1 or E1 capacity isn't necessarily required.

These NetBorder OEMs have been awaiting the new features, and beta testers are ready to pass on the value to their customers. The new gateway is ideal for small and medium-sized businesses that wish to deploy SIP-based IPBXs and IVRs.

"We have been eagerly waiting for the addition of analog support in NetBorder Express to complement Prophecy, our SIP-based VoiceXML platform," said Jonathan Taylor, CEO at Voxeo Corporation. "The compact physical form factor, the high-quality SIP gateway software, and the fact that now both digital and analog telephony interfaces are supported make NetBorder Express Gateway 2.0 the obvious choice for our turnkey IVR solutions."

NetBorder Express Version 2.0, like the debut gateway, is a combination of Sangoma's award-winning telephony cards and software building blocks, which deliver a powerful SIP to TDM VoIP Gateway solution. Developers can use NetBorder gateways on their communications platforms for SIP-based applications such as iPBX, IVRs, and Conferencing Servers.

There are many VoIP gateways, but the NetBorder solutions are unique because the card can reside in the same server as the developer's application. So ease of management isn't just a benefit for the end user. The installer, configuration, and management interfaces can easily be integrated to deliver a single, tightly-coupled solution.

"In order to incorporate VoIP gateway functionality, developers need a gateway that's ready to use, but one that can also integrate with customers' applications," said Frederic Dickey, Sangoma's director of product management. "In turn, end user customers need a solution that fits with existing analog investments, and allows employees with limited VoIP expertise to manage the system easily."

Version 2.0 is expected to be available by early spring 2009. Watch for an announcement on general availability.
