TORONTO, Nov. 21 /CNW/ - SilverBirch Inc. (TSX-V: SVB), a leading digital
entertainment company, today announced the appointment of Mr. Jeffery Friedman
as Chairman of the company's board of directors. SilverBirch also announced
the appointment today of two new directors, Mr. Roger Rosmus and Mr. Sam Ho,
both of whom have worked closely with the company and have extensive
backgrounds in financing, capital markets, advanced technology and Massive
Multiplayer Online (MMO) games.
Mr. Friedman, a current board member, is an experienced executive with
senior-level experience in corporate finance, management and governance. He
replaces outgoing Chairman Mr. Terence M. Donnelly, who has resigned from the
board.
Mr. Friedman is the COO of Edgemere Capital. Prior to this role, he was
the President and CEO of auto parts manufacturer Depco International Inc. that
had $125 million in annual revenues and 800 employees, and which was sold to
Martinrea International. Mr. Friedman is a lawyer by training with expertise
in corporate governance. He has held senior executive roles at advanced
technology companies Minacs and Unique Broadband Systems. He also previously
served as a director of Motivus Inc., a publicly traded company listed on the
TSX Venture Exchange.
Mr. Rosmus is the co-founder and President of investment bank Aberdeen
Gould Capital Markets, where Mr. Ho is also a co-founder and Partner. They
replace Mr. Donnelly and Mr. Ian Halliday, who has also resigned from the
board. All of the changes are effective immediately.
Mr. Rosmus has over 12 years of investment banking experience in the
public and private sectors. He has acted as lead on many mergers, acquisitions
and corporate financings in a wide variety of industries. Previously, Mr.
Rosmus has co-owned and managed a number of successful businesses in Canada.
He holds a MBA from the Ivey School of Business.
Mr. Ho, with over 6 years of corporate finance experience, currently
focuses on investment banking in his role at Aberdeen Gould Capital Markets.
He has worked at leading Canadian independent investment dealers. Mr. Ho holds
an Honours Business Administration degree (with distinction) from the Ivey
School of Business.
