Smartcool Increases Asian Presence with Global Manufacturing Brand

VANCOUVER, Mar. 23, 2010 (Canada NewsWire Group) -- /CNW/ -- Smartcool Systems Inc. is pleased to announce it has successfully completed an installation of its ESM(TM) technology with Asian manufacturing giant - Stretchline. The first installation was on the air conditioning system at a factory in Sri Lanka and achieved over 17% reduction in power consumption.

Stretchline board's has reviewed these positive savings results, and has now requested proposals for the implementation of Smartcool's technology in 10 of its factories across the Asian region. A roll out of such magnitude would be a significant move for Smartcool Systems Inc, in that it opens up a relationship with a global company spanning three continents, as well as a major force within the manufacturing sector.

This particular installation in Biyagama, Sri Lanka was undertaken by Smartcool Systems' Sri Lankan sales channel, Cedar International, and was intended to demonstrate the effectiveness of the ESM(TM) in reducing the power consumption, which ultimately will significantly reduce the overall operating costs of the plant.

Results of the trial were impressive with energy savings being recorded at over 210,000 kWh per annum (over 17%), resulting in an overall annual reduction in operating costs of over USD$ 21,100 for this location alone. This is a significant savings within the competitive manufacturing sector.

George Burnes, president and chief executive officer of Smartcool Systems, states; "We at Smartcool Systems are extremely excited to be working with a brand as significant as Stretchline, and are convinced that our technology will be making a significant impact on the economic, as well as environmental, goals of the manufacturing sector moving forward". Mr. Burnes went on to add that the successful installation, and likely roll out, proves to further underline the capabilities of Smartcool's energy efficiency technologies within the market, as well as the company's effectiveness in providing a significant and economical energy cost-saving solution.
