Staccato Gold Announces Partial Results From Evans Mine Property Drilling Program

Vancouver, B.C. - July 16, 2008 - Staccato Gold Resources Ltd. (CAT-TSX-V) announces partial assay results from the three-hole drill program completed on the Evans Mine portion of its Dixie Flats project in Nevada. The Evans claims are immediately adjacent to Newmont's Emigrant Springs deposit.

Complete assay results have been received for holes ES-1 and ES-2, and partial assay results have been received for hole ES-3. No significant gold assays were encountered in any of the holes. However, anomalous arsenic (434 - 1,400 ppm) and mercury (1 - 3 ppm) were associated with anomalous gold (36 - 129 ppb) in hole ES-1, and scattered zones of anomalous concentrations of antimony (8 - 34 ppm) with mercury (1 - 4 ppm) are present in all holes.

The anomalous gold - arsenic - mercury association in hole ES-1 is contained in a dike filled fault zone from 215 feet (65.5 metres) to 270 feet (82.3 metres) in depth. Mineralization is contained within and along the margins of the dike and is associated with strong limonite, hematite, argillic alteration, minor chalcedony veining, and moderate decalcification of the adjacent carbonates.

The antimony bearing zones are typically associated with brecciated shear zones from 2 to 15 feet thick (0.6 - 4.6 metres) containing strong argillization, decalcification, strong limonitic iron oxide staining, and minor silicification. Igneous dike material was observed in a few of these structures.

Significant fault structures were also encountered in hole ES-2 and hole ES-3 that carried strong alteration, including argillization, decalcification, with hematitic iron oxidation.

Assays for hole ES-3 have been received to 592 feet (180.4 metres) in depth. Additional assays are pending. Assays were performed by SGS Laboratories, an ISO 9001 certified assay lab. Gold analyses were completed by Fire Assay with an ICP-AES finish on a 30 gram aliquot. Geochemical assays were completed by ICP-AES and ICPMS methods utilizing an aqua regia digestion on 30 gram aliquots.

This press release was reviewed by Gary Edmondo, M.Sc. Geology, Staccato's Senior Exploration Manager, and a Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101 of the Canadian Securities Administrators.
