CALGARY, March 22, 2012 /CNW/ - StrikePoint Gold (TSXV:SKP) (OTCQX: STKXF) announces the commencement of a drill program at our Angelina property located at the east end of the Rice Lake gold belt in Manitoba.

During February, an Induced Polarization ("IP") survey was conducted in order to more precisely define the Halfway Lake structures associated with the occurrence of anomalous gold values and sulphides that were encountered in drill core as described in our press release of November 29, 2011. The IP survey data revealed a number of chargeability and conductivity anomalies that have been used to define new drill targets near Halfway Lake. Three IP anomalies have been identified for the initial three drill set-ups, to be followed with additional drill holes as warranted. This drill program is currently budgeted for 1000m of drilling.

The first drill set-up is between the two locations previously drilled but with higher chargeability and the other two set-ups will be on new IP anomalies.

The drill was mobilized into the Angelina property ahead of the imminent spring breakup and the first hole has been completed. A field examination of the core indicates the presence of more sulphides than was observed in drill core obtained during the 2011 drill program. The drilling program will resume as soon as breakup conditions allow.
