Strongbow Starts Exploration at Snowbird Nickel Project

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- 07/27/09 -- Strongbow Exploration Inc. (TSX VENTURE: SBW) is pleased to announce it has commenced mobilization for a summer field program at its wholly owned Snowbird Nickel project in Saskatchewan and southern Northwest Territories. The Snowbird project encompasses a number of target areas within the southern end of the Snowbird Tectonic Zone, including the company's Nickel King project where recent positive metallurgical results have been reported for the Main Zone nickel-copper-cobalt deposit (Strongbow news release #09-08, July 15, 2009).

The purpose of the current program will be to evaluate a number of priority target areas within Saskatchewan where previous work has identified mafic and ultramafic intrusions in close proximity to well defined geophysical and geochemical anomalies. The composition of these intrusions compares very favourably with the norite intrusions that host mineralization at Nickel King. The current program will be used as the basis for selecting the highest priority targets for ground geophysical surveys and drill testing in 2010.

Strongbow also reports that, pursuant to its Stock Option Plan, the Company has granted a total of 1,825,000 incentive stock options to directors, officers, consultants and employees. The stock options are exercisable to acquire one common share of Strongbow at $0.17 per share and can be exercised until July 26, 2014.

The Snowbird Tectonic Zone (SBTZ) is a major crustal scale structure and represents an underexplored region of Canada that is prospective for magmatic sulphide nickel deposits. Strongbow maintains a 100% interest in approximately 100,000 hectares of mineral claims, leases and permits along a 240 km strike length of the southern SBTZ. Strongbow's exploration programs are conducted under the supervision of David Gale, P.Geo. (BC), Vice-President of Exploration for Strongbow and a Qualified Person within the meaning of National Instrument 43-101.
