Terrax Minerals (TXR TSXV), is an exploration company based in Ottawa, that released very encouraging results from their recent sampling program last week (see news release : Click) with values returning as high as : 49.3 g/t Au and 529 g/t Ag, >20% Pb and 9.44% Zn in various grab Samples. This, along with many historical drill holes, will help the company define targets to start build a resource

TXR recovered between 30,000m - 40,000m of drill cores still intact in the core shack. That represents a 5 to 6 million dollars of drilling cost economy for TXR. The cores were left there by previous companies and were recovered on the Giant Mine‘s core yard. The property, changed ownership many times and stayed underexplored for many decades before TXR could purchased it. All the collars from those drill holes were found in the field by TXR geologists. That will enable the company to re-log some holes use the cores to quickly define a 43-101 resource to start with. They have near 180 drill holes that can be re-assayed in totals. Last April, the company completed a financing for near $1.4 million, out of which, Virginia Mines (VGQ TSX) has agreed to participate on for CAD$ 800K (see news release: Click). It was done at 0,20$

The proceeds is being used for groundwork + drilling on the newly acquired high grade Nortbelt project located on the Yellowknife belt in North West Territory.

The Northbelt property is a high profile and unique location on which we can clearly see the continuity of the structures on innumerable zones to build a resource (multi million ounces). It is the northern extension of the geological structure containing the Con (5.5M oz) and Giant (7.8M oz) mines @ 11 g/t Au. It was acquired through receivership following Century Mining bankruptcy.
