12:36 PM EST, 02/14/2019 (MT Newswires) -- Torex Gold Resources (TXG.TO) edged higher after the company on Thursday released results from exploration drilling targeting the El Limon Deep at its Morelos project in Mexico showing gold, silver and copper mineralization.

Best results from 32-hole infill drilling program that targets a deeper extension of the resource tapped by the company's El Limon open pit included 45.9 meters of core testing at 12.5 grams per tonne of gold, 10.5 gpt of silver and 0.2% copper, as well as a 4.7 meter intersection containing 34.9 gpt of gold, 10.2 gpt of silver and 0.2% copper.

"These initial results illustrate the potential of the Morelos Property to continue to offer incremental ore sources to complement the production from the open pits," chief executive Fred Stanford said in a release.

The company's shares were last seen up $0.05 to $14.05 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
